• The outsole has circular traction inspired by the Air Jordan 1. The message molded into the rubber tells the story of Mike's backyard sports battles with older brother Larry. "45/2" nods to the number they both wore until they ended up on the same team. That's how MJ became #23, by splitting 45 in half, saying if he could be half as great as Larry, he'd be alright.
• "SWING FOR THE FENCE" on the sockliner quotes a letter from Larry. The quote speaks to MJ's attitude in life, and specifically references the brothers' backyard battles.
• This is the 1st vulcanized shoe by Jordan Brand. Like classic skate shoes, they have clean, high sidewalls that are double-wrapped around the toe for durability.
• Triangular cutouts on the sides are filled with stretchy material that flexes to accommodate wider feet.
• Smooth synthetic leather and rough suede create a nice play of textures.
