Joel Hans Embiid was born in Cameroon in 1994. He began his sports career as a soccer and volleyball player while he started playing basketball at the age of 15. A year later, he was noticed at a basketball camp so he moved to the US and ended up playing for the University of Kansas, where he spent one year before declaring for the 2014 NBA Draft. He was the 3rd overall pick for the Philadelphia 76ers and since then he was selected to NBA All-Rookie 1st team, several All-NBA teams, NBA All-Defensive second team, and he also made four appearances in NBA All-Star games. In 2020, he also became one of the few NBA centers with his own signature sneaker called Under Armour Embiid!

Under Armour (UA) was founded in 1996 by former American football player Kevin Plank. When he compared a completely wet T-shirt under a jersey with dry compression shorts after practice, he came up with the idea to make a T-shirt from synthetic materials to ensure that skin stays dry. Plank started the business in his grandmother’s garage, and the success brought him to the Forbes billionaires list. Today, UA produces a wide range of sports and lifestyle equipment, including footwear, which they began producing in 2006. Their main basketball ambassadors are Steph Curry and Joel Embiid.
