Under Armour

Under Armour (UA) was founded in 1996 by former American football player Kevin Plank. When he compared a completely wet T-shirt under a jersey with dry compression shorts after practice, he came up with the idea to make a T-shirt from synthetic materials to ensure that skin stays dry. Plank started the business in his grandmother’s garage, and the success brought him to the Forbes billionaires list.
