We are certain that most of you follow all the announcements and news from the world of sneakers very closely and we are also quite sure that a lot of experts among you had the same reaction as us when you saw the first photo of the Air Jordan XXXV.

Of course, we are talking about recognizing the original AJ 5s in the new silhouette. Another such “light bulb” moment was surely related to last year’s XXX4 because the “hollow” Eclipse Plate below the middle of the foot made a comeback in an even better version.

Now, since the tongue and the part around the ankle are a clear link to the past while the see-through middle part is a look into the future, we must immediately emphasize how this fusion was accomplished in an exceptional visual way. In order for the future to prevail even more, we need to remember who the ambassadors of the 35s are, and these are players who will certainly define the future of basketball. They are: Luka Dončić, Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson, Rui Hachimura, WNBA star Kia Nurse, Kemba Walker and the first Chinese player under contract with Jordan brand – Guo Ailun. Each of them highlighted the benefits of the new model in a statement and we especially liked what Rui Hachimura had to say: “The 35s feel broken in right out of the box. I love the fit around my ankle and how comfortable they are. ”

Of course, this is just a part of all the great stuff that AJ XXXV brings and since we are focused on the future, then we have to write about the evolution that the Eclipse Plate underwent to become version 2.0. The main difference is the lifted arch or the upper part of this open space to ensure that the sneaker is additionally strengthened laterally and to give the foot a greater sense of stability. Another successfully achieved goal with this change is an increased energy return provided by the front and rear Zoom Air units. This is especially true for the rear Zoom Air, as more space is left around it.

We will now briefly turn to the past again because we want to describe the sole, and it is a very classic herringbone pattern dominated by the Jumpman logo in the middle and two Air Zoom inscriptions below and above the logo for the technology used. A very similar solution was used with the 34s and everyone who played in them knows how remarkable the sole on them was. Let’s go back to the future though and highlight the upper material, which is a durable and breathable Flightwire that is further complemented by premium suede and mesh. We have to stress that it looks really great, and according to the first few announced colorways we can expect sweet color combinations – in the future 🙂 We just want to add that Flightwire is a reincarnation of Nike Flywire technology and that besides aesthetics it contributes to foot lockdown.

Finally, we will point out one more thing about the appearance that could be useful. The sneaker looks a bit bulky while in fact it is extremely light, so we definitely consider it to be yet another plus of this well-rounded story of the new Air Jordan XXXV model. As always, the sneaker is full of great details and we’ll let you discover them for yourself, but we still want to highlight one that might be harder to spot. It is the use of Braille to write 1990 and 2020 as these are the years of the release of the original 5s and of this year’s edition.

All in all, Jordan brand is by no means showing signs of slowing down and in fact, it is sovereignly staying on the top as a synonym for the highest quality and as an innovator introducing new trends.
