Before we get into details of the new edition of Russell Westbrook’s team model called Air Jordan Westbrook One Take II, we need some time to focus on the phenomenal season the former Thunder and Rockets player had.

So, for those who don’t know, “Brodie” joined the Washington Wizards to create a “killer-combo” with Bradley Beal that would take the team from the capital city to the playoffs.

During the first game of the season against the 76ers, he already recorded 21 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists. After about half a season, after the 38th game, he recorded 16 triple-doubles that broke the thirty-year-old record for most such accomplishments in the history of this franchise. The record was held by Darrell Walker who needed more than 280 games to achieve it! The records continued, so Russ became the first player since Magic Johnson who had more than 30 points, 10 rebounds and 20 assists in a single game – more precisely, he had 35 pt, 14 reb and 21 ast. He later became the only player in NBA history with at least 25 triple-double games in 4 different seasons and also with 14 of them within a single month (the previous record was held by the great Wilt Chamberlain with 11). By the end of the regular season, he reached a triple-double season average for the fourth time and was also the NBA leader in assists per game. And, to make it all truly impressive, he recorded a total of 182 career triple-doubles and became the all-time leader in this category.

After the Wizards had a shaky start of the season, Westbrook’s game elevated them so they finished the season in 8th place in the Eastern Conference and through the new play-in tournament they made their way to the playoffs where they were knocked out in the first round by Philadelphia. We know that there are a lot of different, even negative opinions about Westbrook, but for us, this was a season to remember!

This is why we were very happy to be able to try out the aforementioned Air Jordan Westbrook One Take II that will be a very worthy successor to last year’s model with which this “B line” was launched. So, the first impressions are very positive because even before putting on the shoes, it was clear that it is a very light sneaker. After that, the next great thing is a combination of comfort and stability.

One thing that is now almost becoming a trademark of all Westbrook models is the decoupled sole and this also helps reduce weight, while also providing a good transfer of energy from the back of the foot to the front. This is enhanced by the Zoom Air unit under the toes and it is visible on the sole because it has a different color from the rest (of the sole) and because there is a classic herringbone pattern on that portion. The rest of the sole has a modified herringbone with short dashed lines that showed solid results on the floor in our store court.

As for the appearance, we praise the fact that there have been small changes in this model as various elements are very well visually connected and a little less “chaotic” than in previous ones. Of course, this is Russell Westbrook‘s sneaker, so his logo (and the Jumpman, of course) appears in plenty of places, and the holographic one on the tongue is especially noticeable and interesting.

The entire upper is a combination of textile and mesh materials with several additionally stitched parts that have a dual function – for a better look and greater stability.
