What are some all-time NBA teams with the best collection of basketball sneakers worn by their players?
The NBA season has just started! This means it is the perfect time to write about any outlandish ideas fans of the game and sneakerheads might have – so, we wish to thank one of our fans for suggesting this awesome topic to write about!
Since more and more people are going crazy over stats and analytics, we thought taking a step-back and choosing a different perspective might be refreshing and entertaining. This is why we proudly present our list of NBA teams with the greatest shoe game of all time:
OKC Thunder
Even though this franchise used to be home to Kevin Durant, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, we are giving them this place for the time they had “Beastbrook” and Paul George on their roster. While they failed to deliver in terms of wins and significant playoff success, their signature lines of basketball shoes were such a hit that it laid foundations for great releases to this day.
Philadelphia 76ers
The jury still might be out on what James Harden and Joel Embiid will be able to achieve together in Philly, but their style and kicks have us excited for all the great things that will certainly come in the future. Could this be their year to win it all?
Cleveland Cavaliers
Many believe it is a shame that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving did not spend more time playing together, but they will forever be able to claim one of the most exciting NBA finals wins over Golden State in 2016. On top of that, their kicks remain some of the best selling and performing basketball shoes even long after they split up.
Golden State Warriors
Steph Curry. Kevin Durant. Klay Thompson. Draymond Green. These names alone trigger instant respect from fans and fear from opponents while the combination of their sneakers is almost unmatchable. Chicago Bulls
We assume it is not necessary to write too much about the #goat Michael Jordan and what he did (and is still doing) with his Air Jordan brand. Even back in the 90s, most of Jordan’s teammates were wearing his team model shoes. Dennis Rodman split his time with deals from both Nike and Converse, but perhaps the most overlooked individual was Scottie Pippen whose ideal support role to MJ landed him a great deal with his own series of Nike shoes that included the groundbreaking Nike Air Maestro 2 red colorway he wore on his way to becoming the All Star Game MVP in 1994. Later on, his Nike Air Pippen line took off and all of its 6 editions are prized possessions for any OG sneakerhead.
