Hopefully you had the chance to read the first part of this blog where we laid out the foundations of what it takes to make it big as a team on the biggest basketball stage of them all. Now, we will present some more examples of teams that prove our point and also give you a useful conclusion!

From 1979 to 1991, the Los Angeles Lakers where both a spectacle to observe and a nightmare for the rest of the league. Led by Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, they won 5 NBA titles out of 9 Finals appearances during that period.

Naturally, Detroit relied on defense and unity since they had no traditional superstars on the roster. Interestingly, that Pistons squad is the only modern-day championship team without a representative on the list of the greatest 75 NBA players!
